Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse with 1:5 patient ratios
• 2 years of experience and community hospital experience required, previous charge experience preferred
• 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• Regular floating required between departments, units and facilities as needed
• Must hold both Kansas and Missouri nursing licenses or compact license
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, CPI preferred
• 16 hours of orientation provided
• Navy scrubs required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Free parking available
• Must complete 10-15 hours of compliance modules due Monday 1 week prior to start
• 3 hours of pre-start EMR modules (non-billable)
• EPIC training module and test-out option available
• Infusion pump and glucometer training must be completed by Sunday prior to start date
• Skills required include cardiac telemetry, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line management, chest tubes, dysrhythmia interpretation, wound care, and tracheostomy management
• Patient diagnoses include AMI, cardiac arrhythmia, heart failure, chest pain, sepsis, pneumonia, and GI bleed
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed

This community hospital features 240 staffed beds including a 16-bed ICU and a 25-bed progressive care unit with telemetry monitoring. The facility provides comprehensive medical services with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The hospital maintains modern equipment and technology to support advanced patient care and utilizes EPIC charting systems for comprehensive patient documentation.
