Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in a 24-bed intermediate care unit with 1:5 patient ratios (may flex to 1:6 on rare occasions)
• Care for intermediate medical patients and surgery overflow including TURPS, laparoscopic procedures, eye surgery, oral surgery, diabetic teaching, and wound care
• Fast-paced unit essential for patient throughput from ED and OR
• 1-2 years of telemetry experience required
• Travel experience required - first-time travelers not accepted
• 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities
• Must hold both Kansas and Missouri nursing licenses or compact license
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Scrub color: Navy
• Charting system: Epic
• Skills required: cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, continuous bladder irrigation, central line management, PICC line management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, PCA management, wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
• Maximum 7 days request time off
• Local candidates not accepted (must live 75+ miles from facility)
• 2 years recent specialty experience required with full year experience within past 12 months
