Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Available shift options: 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts
• Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week for 8 and 10-hour shifts, 36 hours per week for three 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week for four 12-hour shifts
• Weekend coverage required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Floating is 100% required - candidates will float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby
• 1.5 years of experience required
• Patient ratio of 5-6 patients
• Required certifications: BLS (ACLS and NIHSS preferred)
• Indiana state license required and must be in hand prior to start date
• Charting system: Cerner experience required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with daily census of 34
• Unit specializes in orthopedic, GYN, urology, neurosurgery, and medical patients
• Procedures include total joint replacements, continuous bladder irrigation, hysterectomy care, chest tubes, and neurosurgery
• Manage patients with bone fractures and various medical diagnoses (COPD, pneumonia, UTI, cellulitis, small bowel obstruction)
• Skills required: IV starts, accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, heparin administration, wound care, and surgical drain management
• Trauma experience (any level) and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias preferred
