Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Patient ratios: Day/Evening 5:1 (stretch 6-7), Night 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10 if staff calls in)
• Required to float within scope to meet facility needs between Med Surg, ICU, and ED units
• Every other weekend requirement
• 4-hour orientation provided
• 20-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patients
• Primary patient diagnoses include cardiac and stroke patients
• Required certifications: BLS
• Epic charting system experience is a hard requirement
• Must have 1 year of recent nursing experience
• NY license required in hand to submit
• First-time travelers accepted
• No on-call requirements
• Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response Teams, peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Special equipment experience required with Hoyer lifts
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white
• No locals accepted within 75-mile radius
• RTO approved with no holiday restrictions and maximum 7 days
• Pre-start modules required (up to 5 billable hours)

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 20-bed medical surgical telemetry unit that provides comprehensive care for cardiac and stroke patients. The facility maintains strong interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. The organization utilizes Epic charting systems and maintains PCT support staff who handle vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living, while an in-house phlebotomy team manages peripheral lab draws.
