Job Details:

• Work 36/36 schedule with every other weekend coverage required
• No call responsibilities
• Required to float to other units as needed
• Must maintain 1:7 patient ratios on medical/surgical unit
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First time travelers accepted
• AHA BLS certification required
• Medical/Surgical and Telemetry experience required
• Must live 100 miles from facility
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation beginning on Sundays with online CBLs
• Expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Required skills include telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code team participation, pre/post hemodialysis management, port access/management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, colostomy care, feeding tube management, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, IV starts and maintenance, medication administration including heparin and insulin, PCA pumps, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions
• Meditech charting system experience preferred
• Care for adult patients with daily census of 30 patients in 30-bed unit
• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
