Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work in medical surgical telemetry unit with 22-bed capacity
• Day/evening patient ratios are 5:1 (stretch to 6-7), night ratios are 6-7:1 (stretch to 8-10 if staff calls in)
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Block scheduling available but not guaranteed
• Float to other medical surgical units, ED boarders, ICU for stable patients, and acute brain injury unit as needed
• 8-hour orientation provided
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• BLS certification required
• Must be proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, heparin protocols required
• Must manage cardiac drips without titration, chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula
• Tracheostomy care and wound care/wound vac experience required
• Work with special equipment including telemetry monitors, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and Lifepacks
• Scrub color requirements: any combination of navy and white
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiac, pulmonary, pain, GI issues, infections, and unmanaged diabetes
• Support from interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams
• Maximum 1 week RTO allowed per contract
• NY license required in hand to submit
