Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work on a mixed acuity unit with PCU, MS Tele and MS patients
• Patient ratios: 1:3-5 for days and weekends, 1:3-6 for nights (ratios adjusted by acuity)
• Block scheduling with every other weekend requirement
• Float requirement to sister units including West 2, West 3, and Observation unit
• 12 hours orientation provided
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
• Must have PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must live more than 50 miles from facility
• NY license required in hand to submit
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Any solid color scrubs acceptable
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, TCAR
• Care for patients with surgical pre and post-operative needs including ENT, general surgery, trauma surgery, and orthopedic surgery
• Handle overflow medical diagnosis patients
• Rare pediatric patients (travelers not assigned unless experienced)
• Extensive skills required including telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, central line care, blood product administration, wound care, and respiratory management
• Use EPIC documentation system, Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication
