Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• 13-week assignment duration with ASAP start date
• Provide care for cardiac surgery patients after ICU on cardiovascular stepdown/telemetry unit
• Maintain 4:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• Must have 2 years of RN experience with strong cardiac telemetry/stepdown background
• Experience managing chest tubes and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required
• Must have experience working with cardiovascular stepdown patients and telemetry monitoring
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Must have active Virginia license or compact license in hand at submission
• EPIC charting system experience required - training class depends on experience level
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Skills include titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, telemetry monitoring, post-cardiac procedures, chest tube management, IV protocols, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, and wound care
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1st - March 31st)
• Smoke/nicotine free facility
• Up to 7 hours of non-billable modules required during orientation

The facility features a 21-bed stepdown unit that serves as a critical bridge between intensive care and general medical floors for cardiac surgery patients. The organization maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and various therapeutic services to ensure optimal patient outcomes in cardiovascular care.
