Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Required to work 4-5 weekend shifts per 4-week period with holiday rotation
• Patient ratio of 1:5 for all shifts
• Float within scope to meet facility needs and between like units/sister facilities
• 1 year of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Skills required include CVA care, pre/post neurosurgery, med/surg, rapid response/code teams, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with general neurology, medical stroke, and epilepsy monitoring
• Patient diagnoses include Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, seizures, and strokes
• Support neurosurgical overflow patients and spine surgery cases
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)

This healthcare organization operates a 23-bed inpatient General Neurology/Medical Stroke/Epilepsy Monitoring Unit located on the ninth floor of the main hospital. The unit features all private patient rooms with one reverse air flow room and nine rooms equipped for continuous epilepsy monitoring. The facility supports Comprehensive Spine Center and Comprehensive Epilepsy Center programs with full accreditation, providing specialized care for complex neurological conditions and maintaining high standards for patient safety and clinical excellence.
