Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:5-6 on nights
• Float required in rotation with staff
• Call required in rotation with staff
• Weekend coverage every third in rotation as needed
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Self-scheduling available
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (prior to assignment)
• Epic charting system experience required
• 2 years of recent PCU experience required
• Must be comfortable with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• O2 protocol management and non-invasive airway management required
• Experience with drip management, peripheral and central line care required
• Blood product administration experience needed
• Isolation precaution/PPE protocols must be followed
• Computerized documentation skills required
• Rapid response team activation experience needed
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, neuro, and respiratory diagnoses
• Perform special procedures including cardioversions, post-pacemaker care, post-cath recovery
• NIHSS stroke assessments, bedside thoracentesis assistance
• BiPAP and AIRVO equipment management

This healthcare facility features a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit providing intermediate-level care for patients requiring more intensive monitoring than general medical floors but less than ICU-level care. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support. The organization maintains high standards for cardiac, neurological, and respiratory patient care with advanced equipment and specialized procedures.
