Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work day shifts with every other weekend and 2 weekday shifts based on staffing needs
• Holiday rotation required - must work holidays as assigned per rotation schedule
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• 24 hours of orientation required
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS
• Preferred skills include CPI, IV insulin protocols, colostomy/ileostomy management, pre/post hemodialysis management, accessing/managing ports, central line blood draws, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, telemetry monitoring, feeding tube care, blood product administration, PICC line management, IV management, medication administration including heparin and insulin, PCA pumps, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
• Work on 2 West Medical Innovation Unit - a 32-bed medical/surgical unit focused on new technologies and innovative nursing practice
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cellulitis, pneumonia, dementia, renal failure, malignancy, GI bleed, sepsis, diabetes, COPD, wound care needs, and various surgical conditions
• Daily census of approximately 30 patients across 28 rooms and 32 beds
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
• Zero tolerance policy for THC - medical marijuana cards not accepted
• Fit testing required with clean-shaven face policy
• Must complete drug screen during compliance and facility will conduct additional drug screen on day one
