Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work in a 16-bed emergency department that flexes up during high census periods
• Patient ratios: 7:1 during days, 4:1 during nights
• Work every other weekend as required
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Float within scope if needed
• Care for patients across all age groups from neonates to geriatrics
• Daily census of approximately 75 patients
• Work as part of a team with ER techs who assist with IVs, labs, transport, splints, and codes
• Dedicated charge nurses available to assist with patient flow
• Additional staffing support provided throughout the day (1000am, 1100am, 1200pm)
• Perform POCT tests including urine pregnancy, strep, gastroccults, hemoccults, and glucose
• Work with special equipment including Phillips monitors, Level 1 Infuser, Bair Hugger, and ultrasound machines for IVs
• Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, NRP
• Epic charting experience required
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
• BSN preferred
• VA or compact state license must be in hand at time of submittal
• Must adhere to natural nail policy
• Complete required modules during orientation on VCU Learning Exchange
• Fingerprinting required with 15-20 business day processing time

This community hospital provides comprehensive emergency services as a primary stroke center, administering thrombolytics for strokes and STEMIs. The facility features modern equipment and technology to support emergency care across all age groups. The emergency department offers interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services to ensure comprehensive patient care.
