Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in a mixed acuity unit with PCU, MS Tele and MS patients
• Patient ratios: 1:3-5 for days and weekends, 1:3-6 for nights (ratios adjusted by acuity)
• Float requirement: May be floated to corresponding sister units (West 2, West 3, and Observation unit)
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Maximum RTO: 7 days
• 12-hour orientation provided
• Must have PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from facility
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, TCAR
• NY license required in hand to submit
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Wear any solid color scrubs
• Care for surgical pre and post patients including ENT, general surgery, trauma surgery, ortho surgery
• Manage overflow medical diagnosis patients
• Rare pediatric patients (travelers not assigned unless experienced)
• Extensive skills required including telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac drip titration, wound care, chest tube management, and various IV therapies

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive mixed acuity unit providing progressive care and medical-surgical telemetry services. The facility features a 25-bed unit with 12 rooms serving a daily census of approximately 24 patients. The organization utilizes EPIC documentation system and Pyxis medication management, maintaining high standards for patient care across multiple specialty areas including surgical services, trauma care, and medical management. The facility provides extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
