Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work in a 14-bed overflow unit accommodating ED boarder patients on a med/surg telemetry unit
• Flexible space within GI Endoscopy area with patient census varying based on demand and boarder numbers
• Patient ratios: 5 patients during days, 7 patients during nights
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with possible ED holding patients
• Float required to ED holding patients
• Every other weekend coverage required with 4 weekend shifts per contract
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• 1 year of experience required, previous charge experience preferred
• EPIC charting system experience is a hard requirement
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Skills required: MS/Tele experience, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE
• Must be competent in placing IVs (PICC team serves as IV team)
• Dress code: Navy blue/white scrubs
• NY license required in hand to submit
• Local candidates within 75 miles not accepted
• Pre-start modules required (up to 10 hours total)
• Unit accepts first-time travelers
