Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems including cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, and pulmonary conditions
• Coordinate direct patient care and education as an RN on the PCU/Tele unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Weekend requirement: every other Saturday, off every Sunday
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must live more than 50 miles from facility (locals not accepted)
• Scrub color: black or Caribbean blue
• Chart using Meditech system
• 24-hour orientation provided
• Holiday policy: work holidays based on assignment length (1 holiday = work it, 2 holidays = work 1, 3 holidays = work 2)
• Zero-tolerance policy for THC, medical marijuana cards not accepted
• Fit testing required, must be clean-shaven or provide medical exemption letter
• Skills include feeding tube care, port access, PCA management, tracheostomy care, wound care, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, cardiac catheterization care, insulin protocols, hemodialysis management, blood product administration, central line management, and various respiratory support equipment

This acute care hospital features 255 staffed beds and provides comprehensive medical services to the community. The PCU unit has 32 beds across 28 rooms with a daily census of 29 patients. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services. The hospital maintains modern equipment and technology to support patient care and provides free parking for staff in unrestricted spaces.
