Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems including cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, and pulmonary conditions
• Coordinate direct patient care and education for PCU/Telemetry patients
• Maintain 1:5 patient ratio
• Work every other Saturday with Sundays off
• Must have minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must live 50+ miles from facility (locals not accepted)
• 24-hour orientation provided
• Scrub color: Black or Caribbean blue
• Chart using Meditech system
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
• Manage patients with diagnoses including hypertension, CHF, chest pain, stroke, COPD, MI, GI bleed
• Perform specialized procedures including insulin drips for DKAs, pre/post cardiac catheterizations
• Work with equipment including Sara Steady, Tenor, bladder scanner, vein finder
• Zero-tolerance policy for THC with drug screening on day one
• Fit testing required with clean-shaven policy

This acute care hospital features 255 total staffed beds and provides comprehensive medical services to the community. The PCU unit has 32 beds across 28 rooms with a daily census of 29 patients. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and radiology services, ensuring comprehensive patient care and professional collaboration.
