Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Provide post-anesthesia care unit nursing services with 2:1 patient ratios during days, nights, and weekends
• Work with diverse patient populations including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Daily census of approximately 15 patients
• Minimal call required on weekends depending on departmental needs
• Complete 32 hours of orientation including non-billable modules averaging 1-5 hours
• Must have 2 years of nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: California RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA or American Red Cross)
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, care coordination, and patient/family education
• Manage patients recovering from various procedures including urology, general surgery, robotics, gynecology, ENT, orthopedics, plastic surgery, podiatry, ophthalmology, and GI procedures
• Handle specialized equipment and procedures including arterial line management, central line care, IV vasopressors, conscious sedation, and post-epidural management
• Work in unit with 4 operating rooms, 1 endoscopy procedure room, 6 PACU bays, and 14 preop/phase 2 bays
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
