Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Weekend requirement: Either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• EPIC charting experience required
• 32 hours of orientation
• Floating required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical level of care units
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Must have chronic ventilator experience
• Care for adult and geriatric patients on Hospitalist service with pulmonary and other medicine-related conditions
• Unit can accommodate up to two ventilated patients (chronic trach patients, not ICU level)
• Skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central/peripheral line care
• Administer cardiac drips including Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low dose dopamine and dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix (no titration)
• Provide respiratory support using nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams
• Maintain isolation precautions
• Work at least 1 holiday per 13-week assignment (2 holidays during winter season)
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must submit all requested time off with initial submission
