Opportunity:

RN - IMC

Job Details:

• Float position requiring willingness to float between IMC, Tele 1 (cardiac), Tele 2 (non-cardiac), and M/S units
• Every other weekend (EOW) required with 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) per 6 weeks
• No call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 3 years of nursing experience required with travel experience preferred
• Must have active Virginia license or Compact license in hand at submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, Cardiac Telemetry
• Required skills: PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry unit monitoring, rapid response team utilization, pre/post cardiac catheterization experience, central line care management, PICC line management, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management and titration, isolation precautions
• Preferred skills: NIH certification, starting IVs, traumatic brain injury experience, peripheral nerve block catheters, surgical drains, wound care/wound vac
• Must attend EPIC training class (accelerated or 2-day) unless returning within 6 months
• Care for pulmonary, cardiac, and trauma patients requiring advanced airway management including tracheostomies, ventilators, high flow oxygen, BiPAP, cardiac drips, chest tubes, and Zephyr valves
• Patient population includes acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, CHF, rule out MI, post MI, unstable angina, pericardial disease, cardiac drug toxicity, pacemaker/ICD issues, dysrhythmias, and med/surg overflow patients
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
