Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on a 31-bed medical-surgical unit with concentration in general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for all shifts (days, nights, weekends)
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must have competency levels 3-4 in Bariatric Surgery, Thyroidectomy, Bowel Obstruction, and Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Experience with voiding trials and/or urogyn surgeries preferred
• BLS certification required
• Floating required to other medical-surgical units
• Weekend coverage required - must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with post-operative conditions including orthopedic, bariatric, uro-gynecologic, and colorectal cases
• Skills required include surgical drain management, wound care/wound vac, peripheral nerve block catheters, and general surgery post-operative care
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• First-time travelers accepted
• One pre-approved time off request allowed
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
