Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 12-week assignment with option to sign for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratios: 1:6
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Must pass Relias EKG exam for interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Guaranteed hours provided
• No on-call requirements
• Float within service line as needed
• 24-hour orientation required
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Epic charting system experience required
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with acute medicine conditions including diabetes, renal issues, COPD, abdominal rule-outs, and cancer patients not receiving current chemotherapy
• Unit does not care for surgical patients
• Bedside procedures may include thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertion, simple suture/debridement
• Skills required: telemetry, blood product administration, central line blood draw, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV management, insulin administration, PCA, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP management, wound care/wound vac
• Daily census: 21 patients across 24 beds in 15 rooms

This is a short-term acute care facility that holds Magnet and Teaching Hospital designations and serves as a Level I Trauma Center. The facility has 1,266 total staffed beds and utilizes Epic charting system throughout. The organization provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support.
