RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - SICU

Job Details:

• Work in high acuity ICU with 1:2 patient ratio for all shifts
• Float requirement to other ICUs and SDUs
• Weekend coverage required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Self-scheduling system
• Must have minimum 2 years of experience in specialty
• Travel experience required
• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
• Louisiana or Compact nursing license required in hand upon submittal
• Epic experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Preferred experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps
• Transplant experience required (liver, heart, lung, kidney/pancreas)
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy required
• Care for adults and geriatrics
• CVICU skills: Post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection, IABP, PA catheter care
• SICU skills: General post-op surgical recovery patients
• May be assigned to "Emergency Team" during emergency events with expectation to stay at facility
• No call-ins accepted - strict attendance policy
• NURSYS reports required with profile (within 4 weeks of submission)

Facility:

This major medical center operates a 32-bed surgical intensive care unit that provides comprehensive critical care services. The facility features a multidisciplinary approach with support from physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. The SICU cares for cardiac surgery patients, transplant patients, general surgery cases, and medicine/cardiac overflow patients. The facility maintains high standards for critical care and specializes in complex surgical cases including transplant recovery for multiple organ types.
