RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 4x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM for 13 weeks
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Patient ratio of 1:3 during days, 1:4 during nights, and 1:3 on weekends
• Must be able to handle 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg when needed
• Floating to ICU or medical-surgical units required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Must have NY license in hand - no exceptions
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Must be located more than 75 miles from facility
• Travel experience required
• EPIC charting system experience is a hard requirement
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Scrub colors: Any combination of navy and white
• Care for adult and geriatric patients requiring specialized monitoring and interventions
• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Manage respiratory equipment including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Handle patients with arterial lines, central lines, and those requiring titrated medication IV infusions
• Work with continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Provide care for patients requiring airway management and acute BIPAP support

This tertiary care hospital features 528 total staffed beds and operates a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) that serves as a critical care step-down unit. The facility provides exceptional, evidence-based care to patients requiring more specialized attention than general medical-surgical units can offer. The unit receives patients from various areas including the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors. The facility focuses on adult, acute care patients with continuous monitoring capabilities and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
