RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM for 13 weeks
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Patient ratio of 1:4 for nights, 1:3 for days and weekends
• Must be able to handle 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg when floating
• Floating required to ICU or medical-surgical units
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Must have NY license in hand - no exceptions
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must live more than 75 miles from facility
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Care for adult and geriatric patients requiring specialized monitoring
• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Manage patients with continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Provide respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and non-invasive airway management
• Care for patients requiring BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV infusions
• Maintain isolation precautions and follow proper PPE protocols
• Utilize rapid response and code teams when necessary

This tertiary care hospital features 528 total staffed beds and operates a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) that serves as a critical care step-down unit. The facility provides exceptional, evidence-based care to patients from various areas including the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors. The unit specializes in caring for adult, acute care patients who require more specialized care than is available on general medical-surgical units, with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
