RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in a 14-bed cardiac surgery intensive care unit
• Care for 1-2 patients with diagnoses including CABGs, valve repair/replacements, aortic surgeries, VADs, total artificial hearts, and heart/liver/kidney transplants
• Handle thoracic cases, esophagectomy and vascular surgeries
• Perform invasive hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive IV medications
• Provide post-operative recovery care
• Work with advanced equipment including CRRT, ECMO, Impella, IABP, Heartmate, Heartware
• Provide oversight for circulatory assist devices including Heartmate II and III LVAD, CentriMag RVAD/LVAD, Heartware HVAD
• Must have CSICU/CVICU experience at a Level 1 facility
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Skills required: Conscious sedation, pulmonary artery lines, telemetry, ventilators
• EPIC charting experience required (no exceptions)
• BSN preferred
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• 36-hour orientation provided
• Float within scope if needed
• Natural nail policy enforced
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Complete required modules during orientation on VCU Learning Exchange
