RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must have 1 year of nursing experience
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Chronic ventilator experience required for medical/pulmonary unit with renal overflow
• Care for adult and geriatric patients on Hospitalist service with pulmonary and medicine-related conditions
• Manage cardiac monitoring, interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Administer cardiac drips including Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low dose dopamine and dobutamine (no titration)
• Provide IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Ventilator care for chronic vented patients (not ICU level of care)
• Respiratory support using nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams
• Maintain isolation precautions as needed
• Unit accommodates up to two ventilated patients
• Remote telemetry monitoring with monitors remaining on unit
• Floating required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical level units
• 32 hours of orientation provided
• Required to work at least 1 holiday per 13-week assignment (2 holidays during winter season)

The 20-bed telemetry PCU specializes in care and management of patients with pulmonary and medicine-related illnesses, serving as an alternate unit for renal and other medical patients with capability for chronic trach patients requiring ventilator support.
