RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract length
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Patient ratios: 1:3 days, 1:4 nights, 1:3 weekends
• Must be able to handle 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg
• Float to ICU or medical-surgical units as needed
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Must have NY license in hand - no exceptions
• Must be outside 75-mile radius of facility
• 1 year of experience required
• Travel experience required
• EPIC charting experience is mandatory
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Dress code: Any combination of navy and white scrubs
• Care for adult and geriatric patients requiring specialized monitoring
• Manage patients with continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Provide care for patients with airway management, BIPAP support, arterial lines, and central lines
• Handle cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Manage IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Provide respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Follow isolation precautions and utilize rapid response teams
• Pre-approved time off available (one occurrence)
• Complete pre-start modules (up to 5 billable hours)

This tertiary care hospital features 528 total staffed beds and operates a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) that serves as a critical care step-down unit. The facility provides exceptional, evidence-based care to patients requiring more specialized attention than general medical-surgical units can offer. The IMCU receives patients from various departments including the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors. The unit specializes in caring for patients with complex medical diagnoses, particularly those with pulmonary conditions, and maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams.
