RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 4x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract length
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Must maintain 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg
• Must have NY license in hand - no exceptions
• Must be located 75+ miles from facility
• 1 year of nursing experience required
• Travel experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Must be able to float to ICU or medical-surgical units
• One pre-approved time off allowed during contract
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Care for adult and geriatric patients requiring specialized monitoring
• Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams when needed
• Provide IV therapy and peripheral line care/management
• Manage respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and non-invasive airway management
• Maintain isolation precautions and proper PPE usage
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Administer blood products and provide central line care/management

Facility:

This 528-bed tertiary care hospital features a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) that serves as a critical care step-down unit. The facility provides evidence-based care to patients from various areas including the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors. The unit specializes in caring for adult acute care patients requiring more specialized attention than general medical-surgical units can provide. All patients receive continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
