RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting experience required - no exceptions
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP
• BSN preferred
• 36 hours of orientation
• Weekend coverage required
• May float within scope if needed
• Self-scheduling system
• One pre-approved time off request allowed (subject to unit manager approval)
• No time off granted during first week of assignment
• Natural nail policy enforced
• Complete required modules during orientation week on VCU Learning Exchange
• Work with neonates from edge of viability to discharge preparation
• Provide care for premature and seriously ill infants requiring surgical and medical intervention
• Skills include ventilator management, central line care, arterial line management, developmental care, and various neonatal procedures
• Work in single-family room environment with interdisciplinary support teams

This healthcare organization operates a 40-bed Level IV state-of-the-art NICU that serves as the largest single-family room NICU in Central Virginia. The facility specializes in caring for premature and critically ill infants requiring complex medical and surgical interventions. The unit provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and various other specialized services to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
