Description

RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Schedule: 3x12s with weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Patient ratios typically 1:5 with staffing goal of 1:4
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Floating required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical level of care units
• 1 year of nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Neuro PCU experience required
• Must be skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration)
• Respiratory support: nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions and telemetry settings across PCU, IMC, and stepdown units
• Manage IV drips including Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix, Lidocaine, Ketamine
• Care for stroke and neurology patients as well as general medicine overflow
• Work with remote telemetry monitoring system
• 32-hour orientation provided
• Accept first-time travelers, though travel experience preferred

As a teaching hospital affiliated with a medical school, it offers advanced specialty care including bariatric, trauma, and surgical services. The Stroke/Neuroscience unit is a Joint Commission certified primary stroke center that specializes in caring for hospitalist medicine patients including stroke and neurology patients. The facility utilizes remote telemetry monitoring and has implemented innovative tele sitting technology to enhance patient care coverage.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
