RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour day shifts in a 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg patients
• Must have NY license in hand - no exceptions
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Must be located more than 75 miles from facility
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH (valid NIHSS must be included in submission)
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Floating required within skillset
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Skills include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care/management, respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, blood product administration, CVA care, and wound care/wound vac
• Pre-start modules required (up to 5 billable hours, total may reach 10 hours)
• First time travelers accepted

This tertiary care hospital operates a 39-bed Acute Stroke Unit that specializes in caring for acute stroke patients and other neurological disorders, as well as acute medical patients. The unit practices an adjustable acuity delivery of care model providing evidence-based care to facilitate and optimize stroke care during primary prevention and acute care phases. The facility maintains 528 total staffed beds and focuses on delivering comprehensive neurological and medical care services.
