RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work Monday to Friday schedule with call requirements
• Call required 6-8 days per month (varies); self-scheduled
• Minimum of 1 weekend shift per contract required
• Patient ratio of 2:1 during day shifts
• Must assist with coverage in Pre-Op when needed
• 2 years of experience preferred with all surgeries except cardiac
• Experience with pediatric patients required and critical care strongly preferred
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Must have experience recovering ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental (adults and pediatrics), GYN, and pediatric ENT procedures
• Experience required with monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation and arterial lines
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH
• Travel experience required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Care for patients of all ages from 8 months old to 100+ years old
• Heavy volume of ortho, general, GYN, neuro, and urology cases
• Must orient to Preop Holding as nurses float between PACU and Pre-Op when needed
• On-site drug screen required with comprehensive panel testing
• Documentation must be completed 3 business days prior to start date

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive surgical program performing all types of surgeries except cardiac procedures. The facility features a 21-bed PACU with a daily census of 30 patients and provides Level II trauma services. The organization maintains connected Pre-Op and PACU units that work collaboratively to ensure seamless patient care. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services to support comprehensive patient care.
