RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend requirement of either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• EPIC charting experience required
• Floating required within skillset
• 48 hours of orientation
• Previous neuro experience and large L1/L2 facility experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must be proficient in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care experience required
• Experience with continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade and sedation required
• Neuro skills required: CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drain (EVD), hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post craniotomy and neurosurgery management
• Respiratory skills required: BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, suctioning, and ventilator management
• Care for patients with stroke, neurosurgery, neuro-specific diagnoses, and complex spine conditions
• Perform special procedures including EVDs and therapeutic thermoregulation
• Virginia State or Compact RN license required
