RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week including weekdays and weekends
• Maintain 1:2 patient ratio based on acuity with possible overflow patients requiring step-down level care
• Must have ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience - required
• Must be experienced in direct fresh open-heart admissions from OR, pressure monitoring, and Swan-Ganz management
• Experience required with Impella monitoring and CRRT
• Minimum 2+ years experience with cardiac surgery skills required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH
• Work with Cerner EMR system
• 13-week contract with possible extension
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Blocked schedules only considered for weekend-only requests (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• May occasionally float to Medical ICU or Step Down Unit
• Scrubs not provided
• Care for adult and geriatric patients in 10-bed unit with daily census of 4
• Work with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams

Facility:

This medical center features a specialized 10-bed Cardiac Care Unit that primarily provides care for cardiothoracic surgery patients including CABGs, open valve replacements, thoracotomies, and carotid endarterectomies. The facility also treats complicated cardiac catheterization lab patients, medical cardiology patients, STEMIs, cardiogenic shock patients, and post-code patients. The unit maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and advanced cardiac monitoring capabilities to provide specialized cardiovascular care.
