RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in a mixed acuity Progressive Care Unit with PCU, Medical/Surgical Telemetry, and Medical/Surgical patients
• Patient ratios: 1:3-5 for days and weekends, 1:3-6 for nights (ratios adjusted by acuity)
• Block scheduling with every other weekend requirement
• Float requirement to corresponding sister units (West 2, West 3, and Observation unit)
• 12 hours of unit orientation provided
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
• Must have PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years (required)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from facility (locals not accepted)
• NY state license required in hand to submit
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Any solid color scrubs acceptable
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, TCAR
• Care for patients with surgical pre and post conditions, ENT, general surgery, trauma surgery, orthopedic surgery, and overflow medical diagnosis patients
• Rare pediatric patients (travelers not assigned unless experienced)
• Use of EPIC documentation system, Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary

This healthcare facility operates a 25-bed mixed acuity Progressive Care Unit with 12 patient rooms serving a daily census of 24 patients. The unit specializes in caring for patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and intervention, bridging the gap between intensive care and general medical/surgical care. The facility maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and utilizes modern technology systems to ensure quality patient care and safety.
