RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Provide nursing care on Medical Surgical Telemetry unit for adult and geriatric patients
• Day/Evening patient ratios are 5:1 (stretch to 6-7), Night ratios are 6-7:1 (stretch to 8-10 if staff calls in)
• Float required to MS, ICU, and ED units as needed
• Work every other weekend as required
• 4 hours of orientation provided
• 20-bed unit caring for patients with cardiac and stroke diagnoses
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• NY nursing license required in hand to submit
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Must be comfortable with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with rapid response team activation and peripheral line care/management
• Skills required: oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE
• Work with special equipment including Hoyer lifts
• Scrub color requirements: any combination of navy and white
• Candidates within 75 miles of facility not accepted
• Pre-start modules required (up to 5 billable hours)

This healthcare facility features a 20-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit that provides comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and stroke diagnoses. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. PCT staff assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living, allowing nurses to focus on clinical care and patient management.
