RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work Monday to Friday schedule with call requirements of 6-8 days per month (self-scheduled)
• Minimum of 1 weekend shift per contract required
• Patient ratio of 2:1 during day shifts
• 2 years of experience preferred with all surgeries except cardiac procedures
• Experience with pediatric patients required and critical care strongly preferred
• Must assist with coverage in Pre-Op department
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH
• Travel experience required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Must have experience recovering patients from ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental (adults and pediatrics), GYN, and pediatric ENT procedures
• Experience required with monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines
• Care for patients of all ages from 8 months to 100+ years old
• Heavy volume includes orthopedic, general, GYN, neuro, and urology cases
• Must orient to Pre-Op Holding area and float between connected PACU and Pre-Op units as needed
• On-site drug screening required with multiple panel testing
• Documents due 3 business days prior to start date

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive surgical program with a 21-bed PACU unit that maintains a daily census of approximately 30 patients. The facility provides surgical services for all specialties except cardiac procedures, serving patients across all age groups from infants to elderly patients. The PACU is connected to the Pre-Op Holding area, allowing for integrated patient flow and nursing flexibility. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services.
