RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work in a 5-bed Level II NICU caring for infants 34 weeks gestation and above
• Patient ratios of 1:2-3 neonates
• 2 years of NICU experience required, no first-time travelers accepted
• Minimum 4-5 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per 6-week schedule period
• Minimum 2 Friday shifts per 6-week schedule period
• 2 mandatory call shifts every 6-week schedule required
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP (STABLE preferred)
• Must float to well newborn nursery/postpartum as needed
• Expected to attend high-risk deliveries and provide 1:1 newborn recovery care
• Assist with well newborn assessments and procedures when no NICU census
• Stabilize and transfer higher acuity/lower gestational age newborns
• Perform procedures including needle aspiration, chest tube placement, UVC/UAC line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation, surfactant administration, and resuscitation
• Skills required: blood glucose monitoring, various feeding methods, isolation precautions, central line care, umbilical catheter care, neonatal abstinence syndrome management
• Work with standard NICU equipment including IV pumps, phototherapy equipment, incubators, and radiant warmers
• 12 hours orientation provided
• Travel experience required
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
• 3 guaranteed shifts per 13-week contract

This healthcare facility operates a specialized Level II NICU with 5 beds and maintains a daily census of 0-2 NICU babies. The unit provides comprehensive neonatal care with 24/7 nurse practitioner coverage and pediatric rounding for nursery babies. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Advanced technology includes neonatal echo capabilities and telehealth support for neonatologist consultation, ensuring high-quality care for premature and critically ill newborns.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
