RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 6:1 for all shifts
• Floating to other units expected at times
• BLS certification required
• Must accept pediatric surgical patients aged 12 and above depending on surgical procedure
• Fast-paced inpatient surgical unit requiring previous surgical experience
• Cannot guarantee block scheduling but will try to group shifts together if available
• Handle general surgery, abdominal surgery, urological surgery, orthopedic surgery, hysterectomy, mastectomy, spine surgery, and bariatric surgery patients
• RTO policy: work holidays based on assignment length (1 holiday = work it, 2 holidays = work 1, 3 holidays = work 2)
• Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills required include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, telemetry monitoring, wound care/wound vac, and continuous bladder irrigation
• 40-hour orientation required
• Zero tolerance policy for THC with drug screening on day 1
• Fit testing required with clean-shaven policy

This healthcare facility operates a 24-bed medical-surgical unit with a daily census of 18 patients, providing comprehensive surgical services and post-operative care. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries.
