RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• 2 years of nursing experience required with travel experience required
• Must be comfortable working with prison population/inmates
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
• Patient ratios: 2:1 ICU, 3:1 Stepdown
• May float to medical-surgical units with 1:4 ratio if necessary
• Care for adult and geriatric patients
• 6 weekend shifts required per contract
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Unit census averages 5-6 patients with 13 total beds available
• Must have experience with bedside procedures and assisting with conscious sedation
• Skills include ventilator management, cardiac drip titration, central line care, arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Patient diagnoses include sepsis, dialysis, complicated surgeries, post catheterization, DKA, respiratory failure, stroke, MI, and esophageal varices
• Security guards maintain visual contact with inmates during patient care
• CPI certification can be obtained at facility within 30 days if needed
• Tennessee state license or multi-state compact license required
• Pre-start modules required (approximately 2 hours, non-billable)
• Labs must be completed within 72 hours of signing
