Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• Provide nursing care to pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients in the pediatric intensive care unit
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Monitor all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed and manage intravenous infusions and blood products
• Interact with families and patients to share care plans during hospitalization and at discharge
• Inform patients and families about hospital procedures
• Make referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Required: 1 year of nursing experience and Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program
• Required certifications: Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License (eNLC), Basic Life Support (AHA), and PALS (AHA)
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher
• Must demonstrate knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and procedures
• Strong organizational, planning, and coordination skills required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary
• Computer skills and ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients required
