Opportunity:

Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography

Job Details:

• Work under general supervision performing computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients
• May also perform general diagnostic radiology examinations
• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations
• Review clinical data and perform appropriate examinations, obtaining additional patient medical history as needed
• Prepare procedure rooms and regularly replenish supplies including linen and related materials
• Analyze anatomical structure of patients, set up equipment, and perform CT scans
• Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information from body areas being studied
• Administer intravenous contrast media using power injectors and monitor patients for possible reactions
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies for procedures
• Assist Radiologists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies
• Perform all imaging procedures demonstrating principles of radiation protection and ALARA techniques
• Resolve image exceptions and ensure high quality image delivery into PACS system
• Complete all study indexing in Radiology Information System
• Review and confirm clinical protocols with Radiologist before performing studies
• Transport patients to and from Emergency Department
• Required certifications: BLS from AHA, ARRT (CT) certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience in hospital setting required
• Must have peripheral IV insertion experience or willingness to obtain training
• Associates degree in Applied Science in Radiology required
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Must maintain required hours of continued medical education
