Opportunity:

Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech CVOR

Job Details:

• Provide assistance and support to surgeons by preparing and providing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures
• Work under supervision of surgeons to facilitate safe, effective and orderly operating room operations
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
• Two years current experience required in large OR with current cardiovascular experience required
• Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to fast-paced environment
• Perform instrument counts and maintain accurate count of sponges, needles, and instruments during procedures
• Secure and prepare all supplies and instruments required for surgical intervention
• Ensure preparation and maintenance of sterile field in OR
• Prepare patient skin for surgical treatment and position/re-position patients during surgery
• Monitor patients during surgery and provide supportive care during pre-operative phase
• Perform scrub functions and ensure specimens are correctly handled and routed
• Maintain current knowledge of anatomy/physiology and medications used intraoperatively
• Demonstrate superior knowledge of advanced surgical equipment and instrumentation
• Apply leadership abilities and critical thinking skills
• Required Education: HS Diploma or GED plus completion of Surgical Technician training program or CST credential with 10 years experience
• BLS certification required through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• English proficiency required (speak, read, write)
• Ortho, ENT, vascular, and transplant experience preferred
