Opportunity:

Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography

Job Details:

• Specialize in performing computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients
• May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations
• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examination
• Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations
• Prepare procedure room and regularly replenish stock such as linen and related supplies
• Analyze anatomical structure of patients, set up equipment and perform CT scans
• Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information from the body area being studied
• Administer intravenous contrast media including utilization of power injectors
• Monitor patients for possible reactions and provide immediate care if reactions occur
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for procedures
• Assist radiologists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies
• Demonstrate principles of radiation protection including patient shielding and ALARA techniques
• Resolve image exceptions and ensure high quality image delivery into PACS system
• Complete all study indexing in the Radiology Information System
• Review and confirm clinical protocols with radiologist before performing studies
• Must be registered with ARRT and have advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or be registry-eligible
• BLS certification required
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Must maintain required hours of continued medical education
• Previous general radiography experience and ability to operate CT equipment required
