Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Collaborate with physicians to provide comprehensive patient care plans
• Provide bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders
• Delegate to and oversee Nurse Assistant, Patient Care Associate, OB Care Associate, Surgical Service Assistant, Nursing Clerk and Psychiatric Tech functions
• Evaluate effectiveness of care plans and patient outcomes
• Assume leadership role integrating evidence-based knowledge into practice
• Coordinate tasks and assignments of nursing care
• Facilitate and participate in patient conferences
• Identify and provide means to meet patients' ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs
• Communicate with appropriate resource persons and attend discharge/transfer planning conferences
• Teach and guide professional and ancillary personnel
• Precept and mentor new employees and students
• Function as team leader ensuring proper patient placement and delegation of assignments
• Must be comfortable floating to Emergency Department and Step Down units
• Work every third weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• 2+ years of ICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, SCRN
• Travel experience preferred
• Neuro surgical experience preferred
• Open heart experience preferred
• Michigan nursing license required
