Opportunity:

Technologist - X-Ray

Job Details:

• Coordinate and participate in all computerized tomography scanning procedures
• Set up, monitor and operate complex computerized equipment for diagnostic purposes
• Transfer and position patients utilizing accepted safety standards and proper lifting techniques
• Apply immobilization devices as necessary
• Obtain vital patient information including known allergies and pertinent medical history
• Prepare and inject contrast media intravenously as needed for examinations
• Make and develop images for permanent patient files
• Record all studies on magnetic tape for future reference
• Organize daily patient schedules in cooperation with work-room technician
• Maintain image quality following department guidelines
• Perform daily calibration and quality control of equipment
• Handle electronic/digital image capture, storage, transfer, and copy
• Monitor patients for allergic reactions and take proper action as needed
• Assist with emergency medical situations including providing basic CPR
• Maintain cleanliness of working environment and ensure adequate supply inventory
• Instruct new personnel as needed
• Assist radiologists and physician specialists in specialized procedures
• Review and record pertinent patient history and clinical data
• Work every other weekend schedule
• Possible on-call responsibilities
• 2+ years of X-ray or OR experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ARRT
• Michigan license verification required
