Opportunity:

SMH General X - SMH : L1RAD : X-Ray Tech

Job Details:

• Work day shifts with weekends, on-call, callbacks, and holidays as per unit needs
• Schedule may be 36 or 40 hours per week
• Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts
• Verify patients' identity and review physicians' orders before beginning x-ray procedures
• Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs per physician orders
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions
• Position patients accordingly, including lifting and moving patients with limited mobility
• Handle all radiologic equipment safely while keeping patient dose as low as possible
• Observe patient status and interpret age-specific needs
• Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for radiologist interpretation
• Utilize electronic patient information systems and practice dual patient identifier procedures
• Maintain accurate patient record keeping and ensure images are sent to PACS system correctly
• Completion of formal training in approved School of Radiologic Technology required
• Maintain certification through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• New York State license required (or ability to obtain prior to starting)
• 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience required
• Level 1 trauma center experience required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only) required
• Experience using c-arm/o-arm within past 8 months required
• Ability to stand for extended periods and move/lift patients
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required
