Opportunity:

RN - Acute Care

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts in day/night/weekend/holiday rotation from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• One year acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only)
• NYS RN licensure required
• 2 years emergency department experience required
• Apply nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care
• Assess patient needs and identify urgent or emergent care priorities
• Perform triage using ESI standards and assign priority of care for patients of all age groups
• Conduct primary and secondary assessments within acceptable time frames
• Utilize various invasive and non-invasive procedures and therapeutic interventions
• Manage life-threatening and routine emergency situations
• Assess physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and families
• Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions
• Maintain patient communication boards throughout ED stay
• Document and report any suspicion of domestic violence or abuse
