Opportunity:

Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech Cardiac

Job Details:

• Work 36 or 48 hours per week with DEN rotation schedule
• Weekend, holiday, and on-call responsibilities as needed per unit requirements
• Provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for cardiac surgical procedures
• Assist surgical team from scrub position during operations
• Care for wide variety of cardiac patients including CABG's, TAVI's, and heart failure cases (VAD's, ECMO, Artificial Heart, and Heart Transplants)
• Responsible for proper care and handling of instruments and facilitating room turnover between cases
• Maintain sterile technique and safe handling of sharps
• Perform surgical counts as per hospital policy
• Handle solutions and pharmacologic agents under direction of registered nurse
• Must be able to scrub and circulate
• Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association ONLY), NY License ONLY
• NBSTSA Certification OR 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician required
• 2 years recent experience in cardiac operating room required
• Level 1 trauma OR experience preferred
