Opportunity:

Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech Cardiac

Job Details:

• Work 36 or 48 hours per week with DEN rotation schedule
• Weekend, holiday, and on-call responsibilities per unit needs
• Provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical procedures
• Assist surgical team from scrub position during cardiac operations
• Care for patients undergoing CABG's, TAVI's, and heart failure procedures (VADs, ECMO, artificial heart, and heart transplants)
• Maintain proper care and handling of instruments and facilitate room turnover between cases
• Maintain sterile technique and safe handling of sharps
• Perform surgical counts per hospital policy
• Handle solutions and pharmacologic agents under registered nurse direction
• Must be able to scrub and circulate
• NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of surgical technician experience required
• Two years of recent cardiac OR experience required
• NY state license required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only) required
• Level 1 trauma OR experience preferred
